Turtle Hospital

My wife loves turtles, so of course we had to stop in at the Turtle Hospital in Marathon Key and glad we did. It is located at mile marker 33 right off the Overseas Highway. There is an educational center and gift shop with displays of the different types of sea turtles and information about the hospital. They rescue, rehab, and release sea turtles throughout the Florida Keys.They offer education programs and tours of the hospital where you can meet the turtles being rehabilitated and feed some of the permanent residents. We had a very interesting stop.

We had a fantastic, informative guide. She even recommended other things to do while visiting the Keys when we made gift shop purchases. It was sad to see the injured turtles but nice knowing they were getting the care they need.

I love sea turtles! And touring the rescue hospital was super cool and educational. Very reasonably priced and our guide Paige was awesome. The only reason I can’t give it five stars is because the audio was hard to hear at times. It’s outside and there is lots of background noise. If you are hard of hearing, push your way to the front otherwise you’ll miss a lot.
