I broke my femur while vacationing in Key West. Dr Perry came to the emergency room to advise me about what his plan was to fix my leg. He was clear in his explanations and he put me at ease while I waited for surgery the next morning. The surgery went very well from my perspective. I remained in Key West for two follow up visits, my fractured femur healing without incident. The office staff is friendly, helpful and responsive and so is Dr Perry. He always treated me kindly and with respect. Since getting back home to Georgia, I followed up with an orthopedic practice here, femurs are big bones and take a while to fully heal. They really need to extend time for each patient. I was to have major ortho surgery but the dr ran In and out. Hard to have a needed conversation about my upcoming major surgery. My decisions about the surgery would've been different if I'd had my questions answered. The post-op was much the same except the person I was placed with for post op acted like information was an expensive commodity and she would have to pay by the word. I would save my surgery for some other venue. Too late for me but keep researching and look for 2d opinions.
Dr Catana & his staff are excellent. I contacted their office after getting a misdiagnosis from an emergency room visit outside of Key West. I was seen that day, diagnosed & admitted into Key West Hospital for hip surgery. I was treated with compassion, respect & urgency. Dr Catana was respectful to my worried husband & was a calming confident influence to him. My husband wanted to know if he was the “best man for the job” & Dr Catana was not insulted. He showed no “ego” or insult. His calm confident understanding demeanor calmed & reassured my husband. My surgery went flawlessly & I am on my way to recovery.
