Emerald Coast Eye Institute provides cataract surgery, with many patients very happy and highly recommending this service. The staff and doctors are described as nice, pleasant, very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional, treating patients like family. Appointments can be efficiently managed. However, experiences for non-cataract procedures may vary, with some noting service and attitude were less than expected on a follow-up visit. Overall, it is a place for pleasant exams and eye health care.
I was very happy with the successful cataract surgies I underwent a year ago. Recently I returned for a procedure to remove scar tissue on the new lens in my left eye. The service and doctor attitude were less than expected this time. I highly recommend them for cataract surgery. Otherwise, not.
I got my LASIK done by Dr. Popell a few years back when I was pretty much legally blind. He is amazing! I'm still seeing 20/20 and not even using reading glasses which is unheard of for my age. The staff was wonderful too. I would and have recommended the Eye Institute to friends and family
Dr Planchard was a warm friendly very intense on his work. Greatest eye surgeon. Front desk receptionists were friendly and accommodating to our needs.
