“While I am not one that is ever open about my struggles and vulnerabilities. I tend to throw on a big smile, some good laughs, and as a defense mechanism mask away my issues while lighting up others around me. Well that can only work for so many situations however, when you’re presented with a cancer diagnosis that causes endless amounts of stress and hair loss you find there are just some things you can’t mask…that is until you meet Abbe.

Well I can now officially retract that statement as well. I thought I couldn’t mask the bald spot growing on my head and learned to live with it, the truth is I lost part of myself along the way. Enter Abbe and Jamie and they gave me one of the greatest gifts anyone can ever give me. They gave me, ME back and that was something I thought would never happen. As people when we’re faced with any condition we go to a specialist or a doctor to solve the problem, and Abbe has become my hair doctor!

From the second I entered Abbe’s studio for a topper consultation to the day I walked out styled with my topper on not only did Abbe and Jamie both comfort me through my tears of sadness as the realization hit as to what I was getting done to my hair and why, they normalized it for me so much so that I let my guard down and felt more comfortable than I had in a long time. They found the perfect topper that really masked my bald spot and my hair looked so full and natural even my own daughter did not notice when I picked her up from school later that day.

To add even more layers to these amazing humans at Abbe’s studio, Abbe encouraged me to call insurance prior to coming in to see if they would cover any component of the topper as a cancer patient and my insurance provider said they gave $400 towards the purchase!! This once again only made Abbe more of a specialist in my eyes because she was genuinely just trying to help me. In a cold world where people are only looking to take this was something very different. This wasn’t about the money, this wasn’t about the sale…this was humanizing and being sensitive to a very sensitive situation already and again I could not be more grateful. To say that Abbe is talented would be an understatement. With tissues in hand I walked in tears, happy tears because my bald spot was bald no longer and I look like I’m walking around with my own natural hair. Additionally as a certified clutz who can’t manage to pop in my own eye contacts at times I clipped this on so easily and effortlessly the only thing I question is what took me so long to make the appointment.

If you’re even considering getting anything done to your natural hair, or looking to enhance your beauty where your natural hair does not grow anymore, I absolutely can not recommend Abbe enough. Best service, utmost warmth, and just overall an amazing experience!!
