A Dream Come True at Fred Astaire Miami Beach
Three years ago, I decided to try ballroom dance at Fred Astaire Miami Beach. I had no experience and never thought it would be possible after raising three kids and working nonstop. But I’ve always loved dancing, and I decided it was time to make it a reality.
Starting with the basics, it was challenging at first, but I quickly fell in love with the rhythm as well as the smooth style, and the elegance of ballroom dancing. Since then, I’ve gone from a beginner to competing at two USDC competitions in Orlando, even earning second place in my Bronze Pro-Am division across all 9 dances. I feel blessed to have found the studio.
In addition to the joy of dancing, I’ve lost 45 lbs along the way! Dancing has transformed my health, my confidence, and my life in ways I never imagined.
What makes Fred Astaire Miami Beach truly special is Dima and Allie, the current United States Rising Stars American Smooth Champions who own and operate the studio. As a powerhouse couple and world-class professional ballroom dancers, they bring an unmatched dedication to their students. Their expertise, passion and commitment to their students and to their growth has been instrumental in my progress.

I have followed Eva online through YouTube and Instagram for a long time and have always been amazed by her knowledge of and how to treat black skin.
I finally made the decision to do something for myself this year because I have suffered from facial hair growth with ingrown hairs (that caused horrible damage to my skin by tweezing) and embarrassing discoloration on my face (chin area) which left me with severe self-esteem issues.
I had my first appointment with Eva in July,2024 and literally after the first appointment I begin to see a huge improvement in my skin (yes, literally after one appointment). The ingrown hairs are gone (which makes my skin look so much better and not so bumpy even under make up) and the discoloration of my skin has improve (it’s way lighter and not so dark along the chin area. I am getting laser treatment (for the dark hairs) and electrolysis (for the white hairs).
I had my 2nd appointment in August,2024 and Eva could see the difference in my skin before I could say anything but, let me tell you… my confidence level has increased dramatically because the appearance of my skin has improved so much to where I don’t feel so self-conscious about it as much when around people.
I look forward to the rest of my appointments and the journey to healthy, smooth, discoloration and spot free skin. I know this will be a long journey before I get to the point of the hair being totally gone and the discoloration is completely gone and to have my skin restored back to normal but, I am excited about my journey and ready for the ride. I just wish I had started this journey earlier but, I’m glad that I started and made the choice to do something for myself (invest in me).

I really love this salon! How cute and pink it is! ?? they make you feel very pampered and taken care of. They offer you tea, coffee and it comes in a beautiful gold tray with delicious biscuits. Salón is always neat and clean! But of course the most important thing is the service they provide. Abigail is my favorite girl! All of them are amazing but Abby is so sweet and special!
