About Yunus Emre Institute
The Yunus Emre Institute, founded in 2009, has more than 85 cultural centers in 63 countries. The Institute carries out its operations to educate and bring about awareness of Turkey's language, literature, history, culture, and arts. Additionally, through its numerous cultural centers worldwide, The Institute strives to reinforce and enhance the friendships and cultural ties between Türkiye and other nations. The Institute's Turkish language courses have received positive reviews from students. Participants have praised the knowledgeable and patient instructors, who use various teaching methods, including music, short films, and advertisements, to help students practice different aspects of the language. The textbooks are also informative, providing cultural and historical information. Students have found the courses to be well-structured and have appreciated the flexibility in scheduling. Many have expressed satisfaction with the value they received from the courses and have recommended them to others. The Institute's online and in-person classes have been particularly helpful for those wanting to learn or improve their Turkish, whether for personal or professional reasons. The free A1 Turkish online class was a pleasant surprise for one student, though they noted that the lessons could have started at a lower level to accommodate complete beginners. Another student, married to a Turkish man, had a superb experience taking multiple courses at the Institute and found the instructors to be exceptional. The Yunus Emre Institute, USA looks forward to continuing its work to bridge cultures and foster mutual understanding and appreciation worldwide, as per the Institute's motto: "Come let us be friends for once!"
