I've been going in and out for a period over 3 yrs. 2 male physical therapists have been very professional and kind. One female therapist is very rude and abrupt. She corrected everything I asked and said. Her name was mentioned in a previous review. The receptionist is very kind. I feel I still need physical therapy will go somewhere else.

I made appointments for several sessions one or two weeks ago. I had to cancel the first one and I was told that because that was the evaluation session and they slot those differently than regular sessions, I would have to wait until the 15th. I explained that nobody had communicated to me that the first session was for evaluation and could not miss it. the answer to my complaint was "we are all adults". As an adult that rarely needs PT and therefore is not familiar with the process, I found the answer very insulting and offensive.

There was only one good physical therapist there, and she moved to Colorado. Four stars for her, one and two and three stars other PTs. Three stars for the office staff (nice but not the most competent). One for scheduling. The company, Physiotherapy Associates, generally isn't too hot. The company bills for a full hour when the PT only works with each patient for 20 min. Physiotherapy Associates has a strong a corporate administration staring hard at the bottom line. In addition, they have merged with lots of other PT companies in the area (VA, DC, Southern MD), establishing something of a monopoly. This is AFTER "splitting" into various "brands" in 2015. It's a bit difficult to tell that the monopoly exists because the individual offices have different corporate names. Issues I've had revolve around billing (they never did get my insurance billed correctly), and efficacy of treatment. As other reviewers have mentioned, Physiotherapy Associates tried to pass me around to various PTs. I discovered through this that no one had written down a plan of care for me, which is not ok on a bunch of levels (legal and otherwise). This led to confusion each time I was passed off. I was left in worse shape by each PT at least a few times, some moreso than others. Even my orthopedic surgeon told me that I wasn't being properly treated (no results) and that I needed to switch PTs. I switched to a new Physiotherapy office, but am being faced with the same issues. I'm in horrible pain since my first appointment, and I've already been warned that my PT will be double booked each and every time I see her. By the way, I called and made the appointment a month in advance, and requested that my records be transferred from old office to new. They never made it. I'm not surprised. I'm going to try very hard to find a suitable office outside the monopoly. I will also be talking to a few insurance companies and asking them how they feel about paying for an hour when the patient only gets 20 min.
