If you are going here for the first time, the physical layout of the shop can be a bit confusing to walk into, but just poke around and you'll find who you're looking for. Also - you should be willing to actively communicate what you want your hair to look like, or at the very least bring a photo of exactly what you're looking for, and if you do, Semecka can get it done. She's remarkably talented. She'll talk if you feel like talking, or won't if you don't. Just remember, like everything else in life, communication is important if you intend to get what you want. I don't usually write reviews, but I just had to leave one for Jared at Him Grooming Lounge. I used to go to him for my beard years ago, and he was always one of the best at his job. Jared is not only highly skilled but also a nice, well-mannered gentleman. I'm so glad to see that he is doing well and continuing to excel in what he loves. Five stars all the way!
Best place for a dude to get his haircut on Capitol Hill, absolutely love coming here. I always book a 'cut with Ms. Semecka Porter, she is the best! Not only does she give me the best haircut, but we have the best conversations about literally everything. She's a gem and joy to be around. I'd give HIS Grooming TEN stars if I could, especially the lovely Ms. Porter!
