When his first books The New Traditional was published the US was drowning in beige living rooms and red dining rooms. Mr. Carter liberated our senses and showed us how to keep our antique collections and make them new again through curating. It is impossible to talk about design and the last 15 years of style evolution with out discussing his body of work. Mr. Cater is a national treasure and DC is very-very lucky to have him. Why has he not been apart of the White House redesign yet? Big mystery to me.
