“I came to Kim’s salon after having a not so great experience at another salon. I was desperate as my extensions were falling out. Kim fit me in that same day and did what she could to temporarily fix my hair. She didn’t even charge me for the time she took to put me back together the best she could with what I came in with. I immediately could tell what care and attention to detail she puts into what she does, so I booked another appointment with her to get my extensions done the right way. During my appointment, she fixed my color, added highlights and put in my new extensions, which was only one row instead of the two I had prior. “I am writing to tell folks about Shear Brilliance Institute. I love this school and salon. I came to Angela (the owner) after going through hair stylist after hair stylist. I came to her after I took out my African braids. I made the mistake by looking on social media of what to do with hair after taking out braids. Unfortunately my hair locked and tangled my natural hair. I came to Angela and she untangled my hair which took her like 2 hours. She was very patient and kind as well as reassuring!! She completed my silk press and boy I was a happy camper!! She didn’t charge me for unlocking or detangling my hair and most salons would!! That was 10 months ago!! The prices are great and they do an awesome job!! I thank God for Angela and for my friend for recommending her!!

“They boosted my self-esteem up, as I had once gone to a different salon and that one ruined my hair with their hair dying at that different salon and took a while for me to grow out my roots. So I wanted to just go back to my natural hair color, which was a dark brown color, as well as get rid of the dead ends. The owner's daughter had done my hair this time to help me get my hair back looking beautiful again. She treated my hair with such care, asked me questions on what exactly I wanted to get done, and even re-asked to make sure of it, and got to work on my hair. The workers were all nice to me, and the same can be said they treated all their guests nicely. When everything was done, I felt beautiful again, with a new beautiful hairstyle. So I like to thank this salon for doing this for me, and I plan to come back for more stuff to get done.

She listened to me rant about my hair and actually took the time to look at my curl pattern and the way my curls fell, as well as talk about what kind of cuts have worked for me in the past, what kind of cut I would like to be seen in, and how to make my hair work for me, given that I'm super busy. She took her time cutting my hair dry without stretching the curl, and after it was washed and dried (gently diffused), she looked to be sure everything looked correctly, and asked me what, if anything, I'd like to see changed. She also told me I could reach out if anything big or small was bothering me about it. I'm happy with the way my haircut has worked out, and I'll be going back to Rebecka again.“
