About Deep Tissue Thai Bodywork
Deep Tissue Thai Bodywork offers therapeutic Thai bodywork sessions by appointment only, available five days a week. It is best to schedule at least 24 hours in advance. The practice is inspired by Traditional Thai Massage and incorporates breath work, deep tissue massage, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Chi Nei Tsang, and Traditional Maori Romi Romi healing. Sessions are intended for people seeking to make a shift in their body and in their life and are very helpful for relieving chronic physical ailments and latent emotional conflicts. This is not a typical massage, and the experience is not viewed as relaxing; it is a workout. It requires concentration, breathing, mental preparation, and physical endurance, often lasting three hours. The practitioner is a true professional and a healer who works on different areas of the body, such as the shoulder, back, lower body, and core, and guides clients without going beyond what they can handle. The positive impact is hard to overstate, with clients reporting significant relief from chronic issues and improved mobility. The experience helps offset becoming more rigid with age and can make you feel like a new person.
It would be hard to overstate the positive impact and effect of Matthew's body work. He will make you a new person and will help offset becoming more rigid as you grow older.
Matthew works on different areas of the body-- I started with the shoulder, but it became clear that my back, lower body, and core all needed Matthew's treatment.
One caveat-- this is not a massage, and you will not view this experience as relaxing. It is a workout. It will take concentration and breathing to go through the 3 hours intact. Yes, it's worth it, but it does require mental preparation and physical endurance.

He is a healer. And, he is a genuinely decent human being as well. Who would think you can find that in Westport, of all places!
So I have lousy knees. Im not that old but I guess my knees are. I have never given much thought to eastern health traditions but I'm open minded right? The three plus hours Thai massage on just my knees was not the usual lie back relaxed experience. I had to focus and participate in my wellness. It was new and fine. But after the massage I did not think too much about it. But a few days later. Wow. I suddenly noticed, half way down the stairs, I was moving normally without my hobble. And the next morning, half way thru putting on my pants, that I was standing in the middle of the room without the usual support offered by the bedpost. Thank you Matthew. How long does this last? Can we work on my shoulder now?
