I was diagnosed with strabismus when I was a child - I am now 65 years of age. For my entire life, I had been told time and again that there was nothing that could be done to correct my condition and my concerns were routinely dismissed. My reality was that I had chronic double vision, I had a permanent head turn as a result of years of compensating, I experienced frequent headaches and dizziness, and I was embarrassed and self-conscious not to be able to look someone in the eyes.
