I have had a rotator cuff repair and cervical spine surgery at NOSS. The doctors and medical staff are excellent.
My problem has always been with the support staff. I have been charged copays when I shouldn't and have had to wait months for refunds. Most recently they failed to properly check my insurance benefits and want to charge me $1,850 for something that should be fully covered. Billing claimed they checked my benefits but that is obviously a lie because when I spoke to my insurance, they stated that they needed a written request from the surgeon first; then if approved would be covered 100%. If billing had really checked my benefits they would have known this.
I asked my wife, who has 30 years in the medical office field to call and get the codes, the same billing person stated she had already marked me as declining the equipment and would only accept a faxed document from my insurance, otherwise I would have to show up with the $1850 or I wasn't getting it.
