Dr. Nanavati no longer practices here and has retired! His old practice is now under a new management of Dr. Pooja, Dr. Adam and Dr. Manj who also owns Ansonia Westfield Vet Hospital.
It's evident Dr Nanavati loves animals especially cats. He takes in unwanted strays and gives them a home. We've used him for years with our different dogs and spaying our cat. I can't say I've ever been disappointed. Took the extra time to notice tumors when my cat was spayed. I have difficulty understanding his accent but my daughter has no problem. What is important is that his practice is very clean and he does a good job. I recommend him.
For those who are new to the area, I'll be concise and to the point: Dr. Nanavati's practice is where you go when you can't get to Banfield or Petco's vaccine clinics, as he does have the lowest prices in the area. For anything more complicated than shots, I could not recommend him in good conscience. He's not a bad guy, but for someone who's a vet he doesn't seem to like animals much. He performed surgery on one of our dogs who burst a blood vessel in his ear, which turned into a huge blood pocket, and somehow he managed to botch the poor dog's ear up even worse! Sure, he drained it, but the suture job he did on the ear looked like my first attempt at embroidery, if I had been heavily intoxicated. I definitely put this place on par with Seymour Veterinary Hospital, though at least Dr. Nanavati at bare minimum has some manners and wouldn't offer to put a pet to sleep over some back pain! If you care about quality more than price, please search elsewhere. Beacon Falls Animal Hospital, Watertown Animal Hospital, and Cat's Corner in Southbury are three much better places that I recommend off the top of my head.
