Ted was a source of incredible information in pointing me in the right direction regarding my lawn problem. He exhibited an attitude of generosity when gladly sharing his time and knowledge. Ted is amazing. We had a complex problem with excessive drainage onto and under our driveway and garage following what seemed to be the crushing of a drainage pipe during work with heavy equipment (not by TJB). Several people came out and looked but Ted came on a cold, gray early winter day and not only looked but diagnosed parts of the problem on the spot and even before we hired him, he made a couple of quick fixes that helped a bit. He was pleasant, polite, knowledgable, and generous with his time and information. His proposed solution seemed to make more sense than what others proposed, and his price was not the lowest, but it was not even close to the highest. The fix needed to wait until the spring, and he came back this spring and created a swale, regraded the area, and fixed a low spot. He also dug two small drainage ditches and removed a lot very tangled invasive non-native plants. His crew could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I can't recommend Ted and his gang enough!
We've had a muddy yard and water seepage since we bought the house thirty+ years ago. We finally decided enough was enough and went looking for drainage experts. We found TJB, and we're glad we did. Ted was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely professional. He recommended installing a system of underground drains and grading the yard so water would be directed away from the house. As others have noted, he sent us a variety of literature describing the techniques he was going to use. As an arborist, he also helped us figure out which of our trees needed to be removed. (TJB doesn't do tree work.) One thing I always watch for is how much the boss trusts his crew. Ted and his son were confident enough not to micromanage their employees. As a certified sidewalk supervisor, I tell you that their trust was justified. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend TJB.
