I took my Brownie troop to do a self-defense class here and Juan and his wife did a fantastic job giving the girls a basic knowledge of how to defend themselves in a bad situation. The girls were 8 and 9 and 1 month later, they are still talking about how much fun it was. Personally, as a mom, this is a hard topic to teach a child, but I also know how important it is and I am very happy my daughter was taught how to defend herself if she ever is in a situation that requires it.

Juan is an incredibly gifted instructor who has the depth and breadth required for what he teaches. From day one I felt comfortable, safe and welcomed in the studio from him and all the students with whom I had the chance to train with. He brings real life scenarios to the mats and the appropriate skills to help navigate such threats. The drills are thoughtful and engaging, designed to help build the confidence, reflexes, and techniques to defend one self if needed. I was searching for a means to destress and be healthier both physically and mentally. Juan gave me an opportunity to do that while building real-life skills and gaining everyday confidence in a challenging but welcoming environment. That was nearly 4 years and 300 classes ago. Juan, his school and your classmates become an integral part of your life before you know what happened.
