Everyone here from doctors to staff truly cares about their patients and what is in their best interest. I cannot recommend Wild Apple Eye Care more highly. I had some very serious concerns recently about my vision, and I was extremely well cared for. Thank you so much. This level of high quality care is hard to find these days.“

16 Walnut St, Willimantic“Dr. McKeown literally saved my vision. I have been going to tri-county for years, despite moving away from the area. Dr. Mckeown has always been patient, and through. However, a few weeks ago, I experienced a visual disturbance which set off a cascade of other symptoms resulting in a trip to the ER. The ER did some Cat scans and blood work and told me I was fine and to follow up with my PCP. I followed up the following Monday. My PCP suggested I follow up with my eye doctor, as my symptoms and blood work indicated it could be something called giant cell arteritis. Dr. McKeown confirmed that there was AION. Following this visit I proactively reached out to a rheumatologist, who initially dismissed my symptoms, blood work and the diagnosis. However, after they spoke with Dr. Mckeown, they decided to begin the course of IV Steroids to reduce the inflammation. After seeing the ophthalmologist, they confirmed the steroids were working. The nerve now looks good and there is minimal lasting damage. He was the only one that took this seriously and I can't thank him enough!“
