Tom installed a new on-demand hot water heater for us. After asking about our how water usage, he recommended a Bosch unit for our home. The results have been wonderful. Tom previously installed a new water softener and it continues to work perfectly. The quality of his work is impressive and easy to see (I included pictures). Not only is Tom courteous, punctual, and a great plumber he is, above all, honest. I could not ask for anything more. Highly Recommend!
Two weeks ago we discovered our hot water heater wasn't working. The temp indicator was below 90 . We called our Oil provider first becausewe had a service contract. When he arrived later that day the temperaturehad recovered to 130 degrees. He speculated that the issue was with theaquastat (thermostat inside the tank). the unit is 18 years old and he thought the thermstat get corroded and eventually stops calling for re heating. The oil company e mailed a quote for replacing the tank, parts and labor.$4500.00.We decided to get a local quote and called New Concepts.Tom came out and looked at the total system and quoted us a price of$3600. I told him to go ahead and order the tank. The next day (friday) zero hot water. I called Tom to let him know.He called back and said he would come over Saturday morning to take another look and possibly restore the hot water until we got a new tank.On Saturday Tom came over and took another look at the system.About 20 minutes after he came he called me down to the basementhe held up a part from the control box and told me the problem wasn'tthe tank after all We had a bad relay switch. He went to the plumbing supply distributor and came back and installed thenew switch.Along with the switch he replaced one or two other external parts that wereold. The total cost of resolving our problem was $526.00.Tom was prompt very skilled and ethical. He could of sold us a new tank and the relay and we never would of suspected anything amiss. But he didn't.We live in Cheshire Ct.(yelp has us in San Francisco)
