This is your guy!If you want an unprofessional contractor who drags a job out and charges you for additional Permit's due to his tardiness, Heath is your guy! Don't schedule if you are a small job. His big contracts come first, even though your new home sits there waiting on the trim out for your toilet, sink and tub.If you want a contractor who punches a huge hole in your roof, which leaked water. returns to repair it and it still has water issues, this is your guy! A Horrible communicator, can't commit, nor keep those rare appointments he does book, there's always some crisis or vacation that takes priority, and always blames the client or poor cell service for his inability to show up and finish the job.We would drive over 7 hours to be available for the dates set, no call no show But it's still our fault because we didn't respond to a test that never existed. When pressed to pick a date he threatens to call the State Inspector and withdraw his permit, which we paid for, twice. Heath admitted he drug this project out and would honor his original bid despite costs being more. He eventually told us to find someone else when I dared confront him about finishing. He will never be back on our property!Hired another company from Pueblo to complete the job. Now we can finally get rid of this headache by hiring a real professional. If that's type of stress and frustration is what you're looking for, Heath at Rainbow is your guy!
Terrible service! Our crooked builder seems to team up with other crooked contractors in Westcliffe. If the owner's son comes to work on your home don't let him in because he's bound to create problems and then blame them on the homeowner. In a course of several months we dealt with Rainbow plumbing and they failed both the rough-in and trim inspection (permit expired and they never finished), 3 major plumbing failures that resulted in damage and didn't do what the homeowners requested. Rough-in inspection, Failed right off the bat and was told by Rainbow that plumbing codes had changed. Basically the plumber Chris was incompetent and creates more problems then he fixes. Anyway, the pipe was relocated and basically a huge hole was covered up under the basement shower and left to fail. We ended up filling the cavity with self leveling concrete so a future failure wouldn't happen. As for the plumber, he left the cavity since it was under concrete and most homeowners would have never checked their crappy work. After time and use the shower floor would have collapsed. Trim inspection, Failed and sabotaged by Rainbow. Rainbow called for the final/ trim inspection and of course failed yet again. Components that were required for inspection (installed and paid for prior to rough-in inspection) were removed by the Rainbow to be re-used on another project and caused the inspection to instantly fail. I believe this is illegal. Funny thing, a few weeks later they let the permit expire without ever finishing the job. Major failures- 1) Used a old crappy clamp on the dishwasher drain connection. As a result the clamp failed first use and water soaked new hardwood floors and caused them to warp and water eventually seeped into the basement. 2) Leak behind tub, drywall and tile. 90 degree elbow cracked failed after being over tightened and caused the homeowners to remove everything in the immediate space to resolve the issue. Water flooded the basement and created more damage. 3) Hose connection failed in garage. Once again the 90 degree elbow was overtightened and caused damage to the home. Resulted in removing drywall and insulation to let the basement dry out. Bottom line is that they are several plumbers in Westcliffe besides Rainbow Plumbing and I recommend that use one of them. If the other outfits are busy then feel free to bring in Pros from Canon City, Pueblo or Colorado Springs.
If we could give a "-1" we would. Unprofessional, never finished work, let permit expire, made us trench for pipes because he "didn't do that", left pressure cap on vent pipe and we had to crawl up on roof to take it off, put only one water line to addition which was left uncapped and flooded our main room, ruining brand new painted drywall and art work that was being stored on floor. Had to buy expensive instant hot water heater because of he only put one water line to the half bath addition. Any qualified plumber knows to pass inspection you need hot and cold water. We had to rent an outhouse through the winter because he never finished the job and laughed about our predicament. Ended up hiring another plumber who corrected all the errors. Didn't receive a bill until 15 months later and it was just an undated bill for $4,000. Nothing itemized, just the price and roughed in on the dateless bill. We demanded an itemized bill but it never arrived. No way did he do $4,000 worth of work and he could not prove otherwise. Now, 30 months later, he put a lien on us. Little does he know that the State of Colorado states contractors must put a lien on a client no later than 6 months after they have completed their work. A little late. Now we will be traveling back to Colorado and suing him for breach of contract. He will be owing us for legal fees, travel, hotel, and food. Can't wait!
