“I have never been so impressed with a company as I have been with Jim Black Construction. My husband and I suffered a large loss fire of our brand new home back in January. The insurance company was an absolute nightmare to deal with and left us with more questions than we ever got answered. We utilized Jim Black Construction for both the inventory of our home and for the mitigation process and we will forever be grateful for them.

The inventory team was able to get to our home within a handful of days of the request being made. The team was very communicative with us and often reached out to ask about certain items they thought had sentimental value to that we would possibly want to save. The boxed all of our salvagable items very well and took them to be cleaned and stored until our home was ready to be moved back into. I would like to make a special shout out to Karina for personally taking it upon herself to try and salvage some of my husbands police badges and pins (he is retired and we lost a good portion of his police memorabilia in the fire). Her restoration of them completely exceeded my expectations given how badly they looked after the fire and I was able to surprise him for his birthday with his original badges. The inventory list they sent me for the insurance company was detailed and in order and allowed for myself to add comments to send into the insurance company. This was a life saver for my family and we can't thank this team enough.

For our mitigation, Jim Crump and Stuart were our points of contact. We had a significant stall in the process due to insurance and Jim was in constant communication with us checking in and giving us some advice/pointers for how to deal with the insurance company. He always answered my calls when I had questions and was so kind to me explaining everything. I'm pretty sure if I didn't demand certain referrals per Jim's advice, that our process would have been even more stalled because they were things that needed to be done ASAP and the insurance company was failing us. Once we finally got to mitigation (2 months later!!), Jim and Stuart executed with ease. There team worked long hours tearing our house down to the studs and sealing it.

I would also like to point out that his team was phenomenal with our neighbors. The fire investigators did not recover all of the debris when they finished and told my neighbor that they wouldn't recover it because it would get taken care of next week. Problem was it had been very windy and the debris was blowing everywhere. Jim's team told my neighbor they would take care of it and they secured the debris. They didn't have to do that but they did and that act of kindness went a long way.
