Words can't fully express my gratitude for Dr. Smolen and his team. Dr. Smolen is extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, caring, friendly and attentive. It's been a year since my last visit with Dr. Smolen as i've moved out of state and one of the hardest parts about moving was no longer getting to keep him as my vet!I witnessed him go above and beyond to provide the best medical care for my dog when we walked in on a busy day with a life threatening emergency. Prior to that day I wasn't an existing client and even during such an unstable situation I believed that my dog was in the best care he could be in. My son lives in Telluride, his 6m old kitten started urinating blood. They were able to get him in immediately even though he was a new client. I am a vet tech of 20+ years in Texas and the doctor called me directly to go over a treatment plan and get my opinion. I couldn't ask for better service. Thank YOU so very much

Every experience we've had with the Animal Hospital of Telluride has been wonderful, but over Christmas, they went even more above and beyond, Dr. Smolen calling us back at nightfall on Christmas Eve when we were worried about our dog. He was so patient and thoughtful and kind and had excellent advice. The next thing we knew he'd pulled off a Christmas miracle and medication and appropriate food for GI issues were waiting for us outside the door of the clinic for us to collect. Exceptional. So, so very grateful to him and the whole crew.
