Dr. Smolen and the incredible team at Animal Hospital of Telluride performed an emergency surgery on Christmas Eve while I was traveling on the road. An amazing amount of love for dogs in this town, and especially at this hospital. Kaia and I are both so grateful for our experience here.
I was 21 hours from home on a road trip with my two GSP’s. Both of them needed to be seen fairly urgently. I felt lucky to get a timely appointment while visiting Telluride. The staff was extremely kind, and they listened to my concerns. They took great care of my girls, and I wish they could be my full time vet. Dr. Calpado (hopefully I have my spelling correct) was 10/10. She took her time to make sure I felt comfortable with her treatment plan(s), and she took the time to explain results thoroughly. These selfless people saved my cat. It was a Saturday night when I noticed my cat displaying symptoms of a urinary issue, it became very serious very fast. I shot for the moon and left a voicemail and to my surprise was responded to early Sunday morning. They opened the clinic on a day they were closed. It was apparent that we had an emergency on our hands the moment we arrived. (I remember how to say the doctors and technicians names but I will butcher the names trying to spell them, sorry yall) Dr Capaldo and an incredibly helpful technician, Matt, saved my cats life.
