“We just started the process with Don and all I can say is such great things, but most importantly we feel like we can trust him for every part of this adventure to be fair to both himself and to us. Will continue to update our review, but wanted to at least post something because he truly is amazing so far.

Update #1: signed contract, confirmed dates and submitted plans to the city. Sent ideas back and forth for things wanted. Let me say that the communication is AMAZING. Very responsive and in contact with us every time needed and sending us ideas and deals he finds for items on our checklist for approval. Also got a grasp of the style we wanted kinda before we even knew what style we wanted haha. Already on track to start this week, possibly next. Smooth and fast, Don just gets thing done and doesn’t lolly gag around. More updates to come.

Update #2: ready for the first inspection after framing, plumbing, hvac, and electrical. Still so smooth, fast, and the quality is amazing. Already chose next items for the next steps as well, in which Don met us to help choose and verify things that would both work and look good, this is his world so we definitely appreciate his opinions, but he tries very hard to not make any choices for us making sure it’s our personality; he just there to make sure it’ll both work and look good once done. Little changes requested were always met with the ability to make them work, but we definitely tried to not abuse the accommodating nature Don has though. Added photos and more updates to come.

Update#3: can’t even keep up with how efficient Don and all his team are (and so far all of them have even so respectful and considerate by the way). New pic of drywall up, texture done, and self leveling concrete, which sounds easy to do but it still takes someone with the expertise to get it level and correct I have found out haha. Next is primer and paint, as well as tile going down in the bathroom/shower; will make sure to include some more photos of the bathroom/shower in the future, it’s in that far back corner (which was actually completely repositioned over there from the middle-left of the basement, completely messing with all the space; glad Don had the idea to actually completely relocate it to the corner and redo the rough-outs etc).

Update #4: gym floor installed after leveling. Base boards and doors installed. Then paint and stain finished on doors and base/case. Almost done! Will do pics of the finished room and the finished bath and shower (realized had been adding pics of that). New photos uploaded. Beyond happy with the result so far.

Update #5: totally thought this posted a lot earlier, but construction was done ages ago and turned out amazing. Will have to edit with photos again since I thought they posted when it was finished so unsure why it never did. Can’t thank Don enough, we love our basement and everything has finally come together with all our gym equipment and toys down there. It’s now our favorite part of the house for sure.“

“I'm not one to make reviews on here but I read a couple of bad reviews from black rhino before hiring them and was hesitant to hire them at first. We were looking for a qualified contractor and found black rhino. Austin contacted us and scheduled an appointment to come look at our bathroom we wanted to remodel. I was pleasantly surprised with how much he knew about remodeling and knew about the small details that we didn't even think about. We got other bids from other contractors but decided to go with black rhino. The bid is a bit higher than we would have liked but the work he's doing is coming along.
