This was the closest hospital to my home. It was a very good experience. The staff was caring and attentive. The hospital was clean. The doctors were there to answer questions when you needed it. When I was admitted, I had a private room. All in all the healthcare and follow up I received was very good. Not that anyone ever wants to be in a hospital, but if you have to be, you want to be in one that’s going to take care of you and be clean and responsive.
My husband and I went for CT Calcium Score tests at AdventHealth Parker today. The test is not covered by insurance, but Advent Health only charges $99 for this CY imaging test, which is well worth it! We were able to do check in online, and then a quick 5 minute check in with admissions at the hospital. The radiology department is right next to admissions on the main floor of the hospital. Within 2 minutes of sitting in the waiting area, we were greeted by Courtney, who is head of CT imaging. Courtney whisked us back and I went in to another small waiting room while my husband had his CT done. His was done in 5 minutes, and then it was my turn. Courtney was sweet as can be and very professional. She was excellent at making small talk while I hopped on the table, and made me feel very comfortable. I put my hands above my head, and the scan was so so easy and only took a couple minutes. We were both out of there before the time that our first appointment was scheduled for. I highly recommend that anyone wanting to know more about their heart health gets a CT Calcium Score done at Advent Health Parker!
So I recently went to the hospital with the inability to swallow water, and ended up having some severe esophagitis, and the ER staff (Dr. Bosch + nurses) were very attentive and understanding. I ended up having to have an endoscopy and the GI team was amazing too (on Christmas Eve nontheless). I had to stay overnight for monitoring as they needed to make sure I could drink liquids so I could eat, and it was a good experience too staying in the hospital. I have severe allergies and have had a pill stuck in my throat so I have had to go to the ER relatively frequently because of it, but I've got to say this time was much better than my previous experiences at different hospitals (this was the first time I've been here). I felt like I finally got some answers to questions I've had for years, and I now have a direction to go in regarding testing. Overall care quality from the departments and doctors that I was seen by was great from my experience :)
