The X ray technician was short and rude with me. This was the 1st time I ever saw this tech. She was rude!!
Dr Folzenlogen is a very good surgeon. Zach saved my life with the surgery he dud on my cervical spine. The best and smartest Nero
Surgeon that I've ever had. Zach is a genius with such compassion for patients in such horrific pain, I thank God above every night for leading me to Dr.Zach Folzenlogen. I was in the right hands for sure!
Quality of care I received was good, however the bill is outrageous. I am being billed almost 700 per appointment and each appt was for 30 minutes with a nurse practitioner. My first bill was 300, I almost had that paid, and then I get another bill out of nowhere for another 350 from CU medicine. The bill says they've received "non payment"Well I had no idea there was a second bill, I've already paid hundreds of dollars on a hospital bill for this appt!!! This is for the same day, same appt. And then, the website only lets me break up payments into 5. Then, I get a letter today saying they "agree"to the payment plan but if I miss any payments they will dismiss the payment plan and demand the entire amount!!! This was VERY nasty of them especially considering I had already been paying hundreds of dollars for this same appointment!!!! I had been paying a hospital bill when I wasn't even hospitalized! Their billing practices are shady to say the least!
Billing/transparency/cost of care: 1 star Care: 2.5 stars Billing/transparency/cost of care: Anthem members beware! Because they bill everything as coming from a hospital instead of as an office setting, I owe over $800 for 3 doctor visits that should have only been $55 copays based on my EOB from Anthem. For all of the vetting of your insurance they do before every visit, you'd think this would be clear. I also asked upon check in at my first visit that I ONLY owed the $55 copay and wouldn't get any surprise bills, and I was assured I would not. My first two visits were two weeks apart, so I didn't see the bill for the first visit until after the second. I went back a third time as it was a borderline urgent/emergent matter, and I was desperate, just FYI. Their billing office wasn't helpful at all when I tried figuring out why I was paying $250 (+$55 copay) for my initial visit and $200 for the second back in July. Come August, it took Anthem over an hour to figure out why my bills were so high. We did a three-way call with the billing office who confirmed that, due to their tax ID, all of their visits are "outpatient hospital" which meant none of my bills were paid by Anthem as I haven't met by deductible. If they had billed as a "doctor's office," which clearly these visits were, I would only being paying $55. As a result, I had to cancel a coveted neurology appointment because clearly my insurance is useless with this network. FWIW too, I asked for an estimated cost of the neuro visit and spoke to three people, and no one could tell me. Care: The wait for a female doctor was months, but despite having a terrible experience with my last male primary, I accepted an appointment with Dr. Miller as I was felling terrible and was worried I had some sort of burgeoning auto immune issue. My experience with the check-in process was nice, I never had a long wait and the nurses/CNAs/? were all fantastic. Dr. Miller was personable, but even after logging my VERY odd symptoms between my first and second visit, I didn't feel very listened to while my mental health took a nosedive, I was suddenly constantly exhausted, hair falling out, freezing, etc. but all I needed was a prescription to help me sleep and more exercise on top of the 6 days a week I was logging. Shrug. My symptoms eventually subsided, but being brushed off and refused additional testing was frustrating, but not surprising. My third visit was a hastily-made appointment after what was likely a complex migraine, and I was given a referral to a neurologist (same appointment I wound up canceling). So, now I'm back to square one yet again. My previous primary billed about $130/visit on my previous, high deductible plan, so I would have been much better off seeing him with NO insurance, versus my experience with this office. The UCHealth portal is great, but not worth the insane cost and headaches.
