I had a doctor appointment today with Dr. Chang who is excellent in the middle of an organization, NW Physicians and Optum which are the worst of health care I have experienced. I was required to sign another form today asking me which annual visit would I like I refused because my contract with United Healthcare this year has no such thing in it. I was told by David Dean that I would not be provided services. He said and this is verbatim "I like providing services to some people and my god" well okay? I have had the most peculiar interactions with this practice. In Feb 2023, I received a letter that my endocrinologist (who was also my primary care provider) was joining New West Physicians, effective January 2023. In March, I called New West to make an appointment, and was told he was no longer doing primary care, and his first available endocrine appt was in June, so I took that date. After numerous phone calls to make sure my Rx's would be refilled until I could get in, the front office informed me that he's retiring entirely in June. I am starting my fourth year with New West Physicians. I believe that there have been some growing pains. The problems that I have had are of a minor nature. The doctors that I have dealt with have listened to me and been very caring. New West Phys. is part of Optum now. This gives me access to Optum Rx, Follow My Health and a growing network of doctors and healthcare professionals. I also have access to some of the better hospitals metro-Denver. I have seen nothing but improvement and am very happy with them.
