I started experiencing concerning symptoms over the holiday weekend and was quite surprised I was able to get specialist attention so quickly. They got me in for an exam as a new patient early in the morning the day after Christmas to make sure my symptoms weren’t a retinal tear. The on-call doc/nurse called back within 30 minutes of my leaving a message early on Christmas morning. She sounded very professional and knowledgeable and concluded that I probably wasn’t experiencing an emergency. I was very anxious about having my retinal tears repaired by laser. But Dr Johnson’s explanation of the procedure and his calm, confident demeanor reassured me. We communicated through it, and it turned out to be easier and less painful than the average dental appointment.
