Beware of boarding your pet at Broadmoor Pet Resort — our experience was traumatic and unacceptable. We left our healthy, happy 7-month-old puppy in their care, and picked her up days later terrified, severely underweight, and covered in painful open wounds, bloody scabs, and signs of infection. A vet diagnosed her with a bacterial skin infection, clearly the result of neglect during her stay. They did not contact us to inform us of her condition or provide any veterinary care. As a responsible boarding facility, they had a duty of care — and they breached that duty by failing to notify us or ensure our puppy received medical attention. We only found out something was wrong thanks to a friend connected to the facility who was not on duty at the time of her stay. Upon returning back to work she found her in this state of condition. Deeply concerned, we contacted animal control for a welfare check, as we were out of state — and the facility turned them away, refusing to let them see our dog. That moment was absolutely devastating. We knew she was in trouble and had no way to help her. We had to cut our trip short and rush her to the vet. Her wounds were already bloody, scabbing over, and clearly days old, meaning she had been injured and left without care for an extended period. When we demanded answers, the owners showed no accountability. They blamed us, claimed it was a pre-existing condition (it wasn’t), and hung up on us when we asked too many questions. This wasn’t just a bad experience — it was traumatic, for our puppy and for us. The complete lack of communication, compassion, and responsibility was appalling. No one should have to go through what we did.
