“I don’t think I communicated as well as I would have liked. The sharp pains are still occurring but usually when I relax. I wanted to appear well so kept my muscles taunt in stead of showing the problem better.“

“I had a total knee replacement in July 2025 with Dr Chrastil at Panorama Highlands Ranch. Highly recommend. In October 2024, I tore my meniscus. I could barely walk. I bounced around from CU Health to Porter and questioned why I was in agony. I tried PT, X-rays, Pilates, MRI, Cortisone. I probably saw 5 doctor offices before a friend’s mom recommended Dr Chrastil. He immediately put my concerns to rest and went over my MRI and X-rays with me. My meniscus was torn at the root. I was bone on bone. I felt like finally there was light and a solution, and he helped me feel courageous to go for the TKR - total knee replacement. The first four weeks were agony but the team was always there to answer questions and refill prescriptions. My follow up was 5-6 weeks later and my healing is progressing on track. My incision scar is super clean and tidy, almost like a robot did it, but Dr Chrastil said this was all him. ? (there was robotic assistance for alignment though) You definitely have to push yourself through PT and schedule sessions way way ahead of time. Tip: visit the PT studio you have in mind and see if they have knee replacement experts, meet a therapist, see if it’s your kind of place. PT will be the most important thing after your surgery. For anyone feeling lost and in pain with your knees, do yourself a favor and book a consult with Dr Chrastil. The staff was friendly & the surgery care team was fantastic! Thank you for my new bionic knee. I look forward to my new life in a few weeks/months when I am able to hike, bike, swim & paddle without pain. Some people say at 12 weeks they are back to normal. Some say at 9 months they still have pain. Most say at a year they are a totally different person and pain-free. Your journey will not be the same as anyone else’s. But give yourself the leading edge with a skilled pro like Dr Chrastil, who has done thousands of TKRs.“
