We have retained Alex and Rick for three progressively complex projects. 1) Tuckpointing for our Denver Square: they did an excellent job, great mortar/grout matching etc 2) we asked them to seal off an interior door and "open" another interior brick door/space. They did a good job; B+ I'd say. There were slight imperfections in the brick alignment on the new door and some of the mortar seeped into the carpet area. but Hey - brick laying is a hard job so all in all we were ok with it 3) For each project Rick and Alex requested a deposit. this is where the wheels came off. Short version: We bought a new house had an upcoming large, complex and involved outdoor project hardscapint etc. We thought..hey..why not give these guys a chance to not only participate in a lucrative engagement but also give them a chance to be successful and build a book of business in our new neighborhood. We were mistaken. They gladly accepted a $12,500 deposit on the upcoming job. Work completed: 0% Deposit refunded: $0 Better Business Bureau complaint response: 0 Deposit that Alex and Rick have not refunded: $12,500 I wanted to give these guys a leg up and was rewarded with a huge deficit in my checking account. But I am not the only one. Before you go with Alex and Rick I'd strongly encourage you to take a look at their F rating on the BBB And should you decide to take a risk on them DO NOT MAKE A DEPOSIT
Updated Review:Rick an Alex came back to the project site and replaced their work on the concrete cap with a new one. Four stars because we are happy with the end results, just took us longer than expected to have the issue resolved. They were quick to return our initial request and completed the work in short order. The first portion of the job was done well (brick work) and the second portion of the job wasn't (concrete cap installed on the roofline to keep water from penetrating the brick house). Rick and Alex are rockstars! They know what they're doing and did an amazing job on fixing foundation issues in my basement. Alex also suggested the exposed brick wall look which I'm so glad he did. Not only does it expose the brick in case any other cracks show up, but it looks amazing. They even wood paneled the adjacent interior wall and lay down flooring. I couldn't be happier. If you need an honest opinion on your foundation issues and/or brick work--these are your guys! Reasonably priced, honest, reliable and all around great guys.
