as someone who is from a big city and struggled to find someone in Durango who does good blonde/color in general, I'm so happy to have found Lisa Marie at the velvet monkey. SO professional, knows exactly what she's doing, killer salon. all around amazing experience. %1000 recommend.

After a decade plus of neglecting/cutting my own hair, I finally decided be to a grown up and hit up a hair salon. While researching salons in Durango I came across Velvet Monkey and I'm sure glad I did. With 5 stars across the board they deserved every singe one of them plus some. Lisa Marie is a magician ... in no time my drab, dragged down look was transformed into one of spunk and sass. The BEST haircut I’ve EVER had, in my nearly half decade of life, that’s saying a lot! LisaMarie has expert technique and took me from boring long locks to a fabulously textured bob. My hair is fine and thin and she was able to create volume and texture without leaving me looking thin and stringy. Mad skills! My only regret is I didn’t find her sooner!
