Dr Hammond, his PA’s, and entire staff at Animas Orthopedics and Animas Surgical Hospital are among the best, start to finish. I observed several thousand orthopedic surgeries in my now retired from career, and have a good understanding of who the best docs are- Dr Hammond is one of them. Being on the other end of the knife for a partial knee was a new experience, but I knew I was in the best hands. Thanks doc and crew!

Dr. Hammond has taken care of three of my family members now, my husband and two of my sons. He is an excellent surgeon, is very knowledgeable and really cares about his patients and their recovery.

I highly recommend Dr. Hammond for shoulder surgery. He is a master. I had a severe tear of the supra spinatus and it had retracted as it went untreated for almost a year. In addition the bicep tendon. was torn. He is highly skilled in rotator cuff surgery. I won't lie to you. This is a painful surgery but worth it. It has been 11 months and my range of motion is better than before the accident due to his excellent work and my perserverance at Integrated Physical Therapy with Andrea. Again, I highly recommend Dr. Hammond for this surgery. Durango and La Plata County are very lucky to have such a skilled surgeon.
