When I turned my sprinkler system on for the first time this spring, it made two sounds that indicated immediate repair rather than the noises that frequently occur after a period of winter dormancy. The first was of a low rumbling character joined quickly thereafter by a higher pitched squealing sound. They wouldn’t go away after many attempts at adjustments and restarts. Together, they formed a most disturbing and disharmonious symphony that no doubt would only be quieted by a substantial infusion of dollars.
