We hired James for a landscaping project the third week of June. He asked us to pay up front so he could pick up materials, which we did. The project was supposed to take at most a couple weeks according to James. In the 1.5 months since, he put in about 3 hours worth of work, and only completed a small percentage of the job he said he would do. He was very inconsistent in getting back to us and now will not respond us at all, and will not refund us for the work that he did not complete.
I had contacted James the owner in November of 2022 about starting a job to remove a large cottonwood tree in the front of my home. We agreed on the quote and that we would get the job started in January and would take a few weeks to finish however he only showed a few times to start work and never finished. Upon starting the job James asked for the full funding up front to start due to a personal emergency. So out of the kindness of my heart I did pay up front. After many no shows over 3+ months I had asked for a refund and we agreed to figure it out about that. We're now 10 months from agreeing to the job and 8 months since the start of the job and he is now ghosting me. I was pregnant and had a baby during this whole time and could have used this large amount I paid towards my family and keeping us fed during my maternity leave, instead I am forced to have to go to file a small claims with the courthouse. I highly do not recommend using this company for services if you'd like it to be completed, but if you do I highly recommend not paying in full until the job is completed.
