“I have been having my hair done at Shade since I moved to Carbondale in 2019. Kerri was a skilled colorist and I was sad to see her go, as every good stylist I’ve ever had moves away. However, in this case it has worked out because I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Mahala. I am almost hesitant to write a review because it’s so impossible to find a good stylist, but she deserves so much praise. My biggest factor when choosing a salon, besides skill or experience, is someone that is easygoing and can make conversation. Mahala is so warm and friendly- I feel like I have known her for years. A good stylist feels like an instant friend. Not only that, but she listened to me and gave me exactly the cut I wanted.
