I had Shafran construction reflaster all my retaining walls and put a water resistant barrier beneath the plaster. This was a $28,000 project. They completed this and some of the walls show discoloring. We were assured that, when it dried completely this would go away. 4 months later some of the walls retained the discoloring and, in addition, there was cracked plaster We complained and they came out and rationalized the discoloration as to be expected and did admit that they cracked plaster is their fault. Over 5 months, they have been procrastinating fixing at least the cracked plaster, refusing to give a date. They did want to charge us $2900 to "contribute our share" to fix the problem. They cannot be trusted to fix their work.
My HOA, per the recommendation of our manager at Icon Realty Services, hired this company to do some minor drywall work in my unit, as they were looking for a leak. When Shafran came to close the wall up, they had no insulation and 1/2" drywall. When we questioned why they won't reinsulate a condo wall that was insulated, they agreed to go and buy insulation. Then we demanded that the drywall be 5/8", per Beverly Hills code. The worker responded he was there to just close the wall, no one told him it had to be to code. Imagine that, doing drywall in a condo building in Beverly Hills, and knowing the code, but then not doing a job to code. But certainly the price they charged was over the top. When we were told to coordinate everything with Lucy and Jordan, they were clueless as to anything that was being done. No organization whatsoever. It's too much to expect Jordan to do things to code. Luckily they left the job site because asking for something to be done to code is labeled as "being difficult" to them. They have never done any work in our building again. And our manager keeps on recommending them, as his top go to person. I wonder what that is all about.
Relatively large electrical project and a partial garage remodel to add storage. They always showed up when they were supposed to, got the job done on time... and most importantly I was very pleased with the quality of work. I am sorry to read that others have had issues with punctuality and showing up, we were fortunate enough to have no such issues on about 6-7 full days of work. Thank you.
