I was tempted to leave a one star review but don't want to negatively impact this clinic however I do feel I should share my experience so other parents can be informed. I spent a lot of time researching local pediatricians for my 6 week old. VCC was very close to me, I liked that Dr. Hartford was a DO instead of an MD, and wanted to give them a try. My sons appointment was originally at 1:30 pm but they called and left a voicemail saying our appointment had been changed to 10:00 am. No problem, I got there at 9:45 as they asked so I could fill out the required form. At about 10:10 we got into a room and my son was checked by the nurses. Nothing special there, they just did their job and told us the doctor would be right in. After that we waited in the room until 11:05 when the doctor finally came in, over an hour past our appointment time. Being a first time patient I thought she would maybeeee spend a little bit of time getting to know me and asking a few questions about my son, how things are going, ya know small talk, trying to form a connection, etc. Instead she came in, looked him over, asked if I had any concerns (which I had none) and said he was a healthy boy and that was it. Over an hour of waiting to meet her and she was with us for about 5 minutes. Everything felt very abrupt and almost awkward. I would not describe Dr. Hartford as friendly or warm (at least in our experience that is). Aside from the wait time, and lack of connection with the doctor, the office looked very run down and dirty. The walls in the patient room were dirty, the baseboards were filthy, there were Cheetos on the floor in our room. I understand that this is a clinic and appreciate that is available to serve a wide range of patients whether they have insurance or not but if you're looking for more personalized care you might want to look elsewhere.

I have never had a problem with visits and neither has my husband whenever we take our daughter. But, he had dropped a physical form off about over a week ago for her daycare on base and I tried calling VCC Durian but it's tough to get ahold of them directly SO the lady over the phone for VCC said that she left them a message to call me. I never received a call and she needs it for daycare so I headed over there after work today. While sitting in the waiting room, I overhear the doctor saying some things about the form and sounded kind of annoyed? So, she approached me with a little bit of an attitude saying she couldn't fill it out since she didn't see my daughter on her last visit, that it has to be the other doctor. Understandable. But, the way she approached me wasn't professional at all. I was told that they have been trying to get the other doctor to fill it out but it hasn't been successful. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what but as a parent who is JUST wondering about a FORM, I did not appreciate being talked to rudely. BUT I WILL SAY THIS. The lady that helped me at the front desk was REALLY helpful and gave me a slip in the meantime to give to my daughters daycare on base and said she'll have the other doctor fill it out first thing Wednesday morning so I can pick it up then. She was amazing!
