Had hired Gary for a different matter. He immediately sent me a contract and started billing every second I spoke with him. Then, I had another legal matter, and I briefly called him from the Emergency Room to get a brief consultation and see how we should proceed, he immediately sent me large bill for our conversation while I was in the hospital. He will prey on any opportunity he can to send you a bill, and I thought he was a friend. Had he consulted with me and then said if we proceed these are my fees to help with this separate and distinct matter from the previous situation, I would have given him a higher ethics and etiquette score.
