Supercuts - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

I've been a loyal customer for this location since they first opened, ages ago. I've seen a lot of changes over the year, including the closure during the pandemic. Now that the world is kind of open again, they've got their hands full trying to get back up to full production. I got a cut today from Chelsea and it was a great cut and she was a great conversationalist and stylist. Hopefully she'll get more help soon. If you live on this side of town, this really is a great location. It doesn't get the crazy walk-in traffic that some of the other locations here in town see, so the waits aren't too bad. Just use the app to check in and you'll never have to worry about waiting. Through all these years, I've seen some turnover as stylists and managers pass through. But somehow the common thread has been that this store has always had more soul than the rest. I don't know if it's the ease of the parking or the availability of decent food & coffee for their breaks, but the staff at this store has consistently been above average, more upbeat, and they've always made me feel like family. Or maybe it's that they're slightly out of the way and they don't get the same constant attention from their corporate overlords that makes them so easygoing at this store. The flip side of that is the lack of corporate attention means that the facility is always in need of attention. There are still embarrassing holes in the wall where they removed the permanent back-rests from the walls three or four years ago. Heaven knows why they never bothered to patch those holes since all it needs is a little joint compound and some touch-up paint. I guess if I cared enough, I'd bring in the tools and supplies to fix it myself next time I go in. And speaking of DIY, I think the low-point in decor was when I walked in about 4-5 years ago and couldn't find anybody home. I wait a little while and even called out. Finally I got concerned for their safety and poked my head in the back office. And there on the ground were the manager and a stylist, both down on all fours in their pretty black dresses painting the office baseboards per their district manager's orders. Unbelievable. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but I never saw the district manager again after I called corporate to complain about her treatment of the store staff. So ridiculous. Anyway, the people there are fantastic. Chelsea is doing her best to build the staff levels up again now that the government benefits seem to be drying up and people are returning to work. And speaking of the almighty buck, we just had a new person join our family (long story and not relevant to this). She's a stylist in another area, but her stories have made me hyper-sensitive regarding tipping. I've always been a decent tipper (I think), but not everybody is. Since the haircuts at Supercuts are so cheap, I have to assume the pay isn't tremendous for the staff. Please do your best to be a loving human and take care of your stylist. A ten dollar tip really won't kill you. And if money is really tight, ask them about the subscription plan so you can reduce the cost of the cut and divert those dollars back to the stylist's tips. It's a very very very easy and painless good deed. And don't forget to double-tip at the holidays. Give them twenty bucks for your Thanksgiving and Christmas haircuts. You won't regret it.

Samantha cut my hair and she did an amazing job. She cut my hair exactly how I had asked. Both she and Logan were very kind and welcoming. I will be going back. I was also referred by my friend who got her hair cut there first.
