“Our 6-year-old large breed dog began experiencing intermittent limping last year. A neighbor suggested she might need TPLO surgery and recommended VSS. When the limp became persistent we made an appointment and she was seen within a few days by Dr. Sebestyen. He detected the joint failure in the X-rays taken by our vet, and after a physical evaluation. She had surgery the following week. Patience and vigilance are key to a good recovery. An unsupervised dog can jeopardize healing of the surgical wound within a few minutes. Total healing took about 6 months, but she was "good as new" after that. We celebrated with a hike through Little Lakes Valley in the Sierras, and are so thankful that our senior dog can enjoy an active lifestyle again. Everyone at VSS was kind and professional, and our every concern during the healing process was taken seriously and evaluated. We are very thankful that we had access to such quality care for our dog.“

“My regular vet diagnosed my 12-year-old cat with hyperthyroidism and referred me here for radioactive iodine treatment after 30 days of giving him a daily oral medication. My cat, Ben, was admitted on a Sunday after an exam and consultation with Dr. Broome, followed by a test that confirmed two small tumors on his thyroid. He was placed in isolation with a video camera, allowing me to remotely check in on him from 8am to 8pm during the whole time he was there. The procedure was done on Monday, and I was able to bring him home on Thursday afternoon with detailed after-care instructions because he's still radioactive for 12 days. Dr. Broome and his entire staff were professional, knowledgeable, thorough, cordial, compassionate, and exhibited warm and tender feelings toward Ben. Through every phase, Dr. Broome or his staff answered all my questions and followed up by phone or by email. They operate like a well-oiled machine, and should my older 15-year-old cat develop hyperthyroidism, I fully intend to bring her here for treatment. I am fortunate that so far, I have been able to afford my pets medical treatments. If a time comes that I can't, I will start a Go Fund Me account and/or apply for funding from any number of charitable organizations that help pay people's vet bills. I strongly recommend AVMI and Dr. Broome. Do this for your cat(s) if needed.“
