We found ourselves in a bind over the Mother's Day weekend. On Saturday afternoon, our kitchen floor was full of water, which we thought was coming from the refrigerator/freezer. We called our appliance warranty company, and they sent a service man out. He determined that the refrigerator was fine, but the valve in the wall behind the refrigerator was leaking. He told us to shut the water to the house and call a plumber. Try finding a plumber on a Saturday night during a holiday weekend! We called a couple of local plumbers, none of whom was available, so we resorted to the internet. We found Coachella Valley Electrical, Heating and Air and they were very responsive. They said they could get someone out Sunday morning between 8 and 10am. Great, we thought. We'd just have to survive until then without any running water in the house. The man who took my call said that Erkie's was the company that would send Efren Monroy in the morning. Considering he was only a few minutes late, we were glad he showed up. He determined that yes, it was the valve that needed to be replaced and he would go to Home Depot to pick up a new one. An hour later, he returned and began replacing the valve. He finished up an hour and a half later and presented my husband with a bill for $691.00! We had been advised that there would be a service call charge of $89, but how much could a valve and replacing it cost? He would not leave until he was paid. After he left, my husband called Erkie's to ask for a receipt, and the woman who answered said she would e-mail it When I didn't receive it the next day, I called Erkie's and was transferred to Brennan. He told me they DO NOT send receipts. (Huh?)!! I then asked what the cost of the valve and the labor costs were and he said he COULD NOT give me that information. (Huh?). I asked how the $691.00 was determined, and he said it was determined by the technician. i don't know how people can run a business this way. I know we were at their mercy, but this seems unconscionable to me. We have stopped payment of our credit card charge, but I'm sure a battle looms ahead.
This Company is Defunct. Phones are answered by another company that does Plumbing, heating and air conditioning. I bought a A?C unit for my home last July 2021. A part has failed when I went to use it today. Coachella Valley Plumbing went out of busisness. No Labor warranty, Pick a company that has a future..
November 13, 2021. I was informed by my tenants of a fouls Oder coming from underneath the Manufactured home. I called Coachella Valley Plumbing and they came over on the following business day which was Monday and I called on a Saturday. Alex, CV Plummer Tech, informed me that the sewer pipe under the home was broken and needed to be replaced at a cost of $2500.00. I approved and they repaired the pipe. Which they were paid for the service the same day of repairs. Since this was an insurance claim I asked that they provide a detailed invoice and pictures of the damaged pipes to provide to the ins company. 3 months later I still have not received pictures nor the detailed invoice. I have called and spoken to Christen several times, left Voicemails asking that they send the insurance company the detailed invoice stating their findings of the broken pipe and how repaired. From my initial phone call this claim should have been opened, work done and claim closed within 30 days and three months later here I sit waiting on Coachella Valley plumbing to provide the simple information being requested. Horrible horrible horrible customer service.
