About Areté Family Medicine
Areté Family Medicine is a medical practice that provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients in the local community. The office is led by two experienced and caring physicians, Dr. Rosina Chen and Dr. Stella Chen, who are sisters. The office environment is described as clean, neat, and peaceful, with a pleasant decor and color scheme that creates a welcoming atmosphere for patients. The front desk staff are consistently praised for their professionalism, helpfulness, and efficiency. They handle tasks such as checking patients in, taking vital signs, and assisting the medical assistants. Patients have noted that the wait times are reasonable, with most waiting no more than 30 minutes from check-in to seeing the doctor. The practice seems to do a good job of scheduling and spacing out appointments to minimize delays. Dr. Rosina Chen, in particular, has received high praise from her patients. She is described as well-spoken, knowledgeable, and understanding, taking the time to explain medical information in a way that is easy for non-medical personnel to comprehend. Patients appreciate her caring attitude and the fact that she does not rush through appointments. She has been commended for her ability to address all health concerns and for her willingness to work with patients to find the best course of treatment. While the office staff are generally lauded, some patients have noted that the quality can be a bit inconsistent, with the experience varying depending on which staff member they interact with. Additionally, scheduling appointments more than 2-3 months in advance can be challenging. Overall, Areté Family Medicine is highly regarded by its patients, who appreciate the high-quality medical care, the welcoming office environment, and the dedication of the physicians and staff.
So lovely, empathetic, and educated. Office is super clean. This is the best family practice l've been to. The team is extremely helpful, and I couldn't be more grateful to have such an amazing physician, Dr. Rosina Chen.
This medical office has two doctors, Doctor Rosina Chen and Doctor Stella Chen. My doctor is Dr. Rosina Chen, but let's refer to her as Dr. Rosina rather than Dr. Chen as not to cause confusion by calling her Dr. Chen since Dr. Chen refers to both Rosina and Stella. They both have the same last name because they are sisters. Let's start off about the office itself. The office is clean and neat as you would and should expect from a medical practice. The decor, color scheme, furniture and so forth are very nice and a peaceful environment for waiting until your doctor sees you. The staff consist of two people in the front desk. I am sorry but I don't know the front desk names but there is always one person who is the same each time. She always helps me. She is very pleasant, in good cheer, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. She does MA work and takes your vitals before seeing your doctor. The second person at the front has been different people during each visit and I deal with them also, and they are equally as good as the one I deal with all the time. Then they have an MA to help out. A different one than the front desk girl. I got my waxy ears flushed out by the MA under the supervision of Dr. Rosina. As far wait time goes you need not wait long. They do a good job of scheduling and spacing out patients. Maybe I wait the most 30 minutes to see Dr. Rosina, from checking in, sitting down, getting weighed, sitting again, going into the exam room, getting vitals done and seeing Sr. Rosina. That is perfectly acceptable. Dr. Rosina has been my doctor since January of this year. I sought out a new doctor because my previous doctor who I had not seen in 5 years, when I tried to make an appointment was told I was considered a new patient since I hadn't gone in years, and she was not taking new patients. Okay, fair enough and understandable. I was satisfied with my previous doctor but I much prefer Dr. Rosina. My old one rushed everything and barely spent time with me. She knew her stuff but wasn't a people person or took time to explain things. I wasn't actively looking for a new doctor, but looking for different restaurant reviews and other retailer reviews and I clicked on a reviewers profile to see his other reviews and stumbled upon Arete and the reviews were good so I thought I will go there if they accept new patients. I live in MP and this office is TC which is not so close to me but it's not unreasonably far, plus my ex-girlfriend lives in TC so I used to see her a lot in TC and TC is a very familiar place to me and not too far. I also get my tennis racquet strung at Karen's Tennis up the street, get my massage at Divine Wellness around the corner and eat Ramen at Ajisen Ramen around the corner. I am otherwise very healthy with the exception of high blood pressure due to weight and stress, maybe heredity also. Good blood work and so forth. That said, because of this I had to see Dr. Rosina a number of times since January. Initial visit, come back for blood work results, then came back after a few months to see if I will lose weight and get the BP under control, which I did not, get Losartan and come back to see if it is working. Had I had good BP, I would have seen her twice and that is it. Dr. Rosina is well spoken, explains well, knowledgeable, understanding and efficient. She speaks to you in a way that non-medical personal can understand. I actually am medical personnel but I am not a doctor, not a nurse either, I am a Radiological Technologist, so the reality of it is I don't understand from a medical standpoint how the body works. I know bones and do good imaging, but not knowledgeable with all the inter-working of our physiological system. Dr. Rosina explains things well and on my level. She also takes the time to make sure I understand what treatment I need and what else to do. My previous doctor knew her stuff but she was too rush rush and that I didn't like. Thank you Dr. Rosina for caring and taking time to explain things and not being rush rush. One thing to
I've been going to Dr Rosina Chen since I was a teen (I'm now in my early 30s lol) and she is hands down the best doc I've ever had. I've had experience with other doctors when I moved abroad and when I briefly had Kaiser and no one else compares. She kindly explained to me how Paps are conducted when I was younger and scared, found me medication that best suited me through trial and error, and always listened. I will say though, the staff is hit or miss (but I think they're always trying) and it's impossible to schedule an appt under 2-3 months in advance. They do try their best though and fingers crossed you get lucky when you need something urgent!
