I went to Beyond Veneer to see Alejandra newly postpartum and new to California. my hair is very curly and I've been getting curly cuts since 2009. before that I thought I had frizzy, wavy hair. I have done Ouidad, Curly Girl, and many other methods. I loved that Alejandra and the other members of the salon team knew about all of the types of cuts I've had and how I take care of my hair. Rather than convincing me to change my entire hair routine, Alejandra helped work with me to being my curls back after a long time without a cut. I sent an inspiration photo that made me nervous because it was a big change, but one that I was ready for. I walked out happy, confident, and ready to go back to work After maternity leave.
I have been following beyond veneer on instagram for a while before I went to get my haircut because I am always hesitant to get a curly cut from someone I am not recommended to. I really enjoyed the work they do and saw they did good jobs through their videos. When I saw they were doing a promotion to be a hair model for a lower price I knew it was time to see what they were all about. I was paired with Alejandra a newer stylist so I wasn't sure what to expect when I get there. I really enjoyed the beginning consultation process to help them really understand my hair process as well as what my curls needed. She took the time to explain everything and even took the time to let me understand the types of products I was using was damaging my hair. Throughout the whole cut and wash Alejandra made sure she explained every step she was doing and even gave me a relaxing eye mask while she washed my hair. She understood I wanted to keep my length but also help refresh my hair by cutting enough of the dead ends without going too short. After she styled my hair I genuinely felt like she took everything I wanted into consideration and it was the first curly cut that I felt amazing walking out of. It has been a month since my cut and the products she recommended have been doing wonders for my hair. I have been using their in house shampoo and conditioner and it is amazing. I feel refreshed after every wash and don't feel like I have a lot of product building into my hair. I am excited to comeback and get more services from Alejandra.
They do a great job at cutting hair. My daughter got a curly hair cut no wash no styling just cut for $80. I was a little shocked at the price, but they do know what they're doing so it's not the biggest deal. My issue is with their brush, the first time I bought it, it was melted off into the bag, to the point where I couldn't even open it, I was able to return for a new one. Not much improvement though. It's only been a few months and it's broken multiple times and I've tried to repair it since it was also pricey $30. I wouldn't buy it again. For the price I would expect it to be made with a durable material.
