Using Patience as our Doula made our overall pregnancy, labor, and birth experience positive, enjoyable, and successful. I was able to have the birth I have always wanted by having Patience by our side for support and by using the techniques she taught my husband and I. With the help of Patience I was able to labor at home for an extended period of time, deliver with no pain medication by using various pain relieving techniques including positioning, movements, and breath work, and bring our baby into this world feeling prepared as my new role as a mother. While preparing for our birth Patience helped educate my husband and I so we were successfully able to self advocate to medical staff during the birth at the hospital. This was incredibly beneficial!! While creating our birth plan, Patience was so helpful in answering every single question we had and would always have helpful resources available. After delivery, Patience assisted me with breastfeeding and helped me with everything I needed postpartum related! My husband and I are both so happy we chose to use Patience as our doula, overall she truly provided continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. Our biggest fear of using a doula was having my husband feel replaced or just not needed, we both NEVER felt this during my pregnancy and birth and she was 100% there for the BOTH of us the entire time. I also highly recommend taking Patience’s birthing classes!! They were extremely educational and we both learned so much!
I took a birth class with Patience and went from being totally clueless about birth to feeling pretty comfortable about the process and what to expect. Patience is kind, approachable, and knowledgeable, ready to answer any question we had. The class was fun and engaging as well and we enjoyed the treats and little prizes we got! Patience is very caring and thoughtful, and would be a very supportive doula as well!
