Voss and his team repaired some extensive water damage for us last year. Voss was exceptional in explaining and showing different aspects during the project so we understood the cause and extent of damage. Unexpected damage was revealed after walls were opened up, which resulted in a longer completion time but all the work ended up finished. After another stormy season things seem to be holding up well. Also worth mentioning Voss helped us understand what we might need for filing an insurance claim and worked with our insurance company to get at least some of the damage reimbursed.
Our upstairs shower valve leaks and caused water damage to the floor and ceiling down stairs. Our insurance company sent people out to mitigate the damage, but in the process they took down our drywalls, floor and ceilings. We contacted a couple contractors in the area, but they kept rescheduling or not show up at all. We contacted JRD and Voss showed up next day, on time and was able to give us a quote the same day. They took care of everything for us from working with the insurance company to getting all the permits from the city. We didn't have to lift a finger, except to pick out the tiles and grout colors The crew members were polite and professional. They came on time and never left a mess. The new bathroom looks amazing! % recommend!
I recently initiated a construction project and had a disappointing experience with a structural engineering/construction company off the bat. Their estimate was $5,000 for engineering and permit, and an additional $9,500 for demolition of what was likely a non load bearing wall. Their contractor was barely around for 5 minutes before asking for a $400 consultation fee and leaving. They then informed me that they didn't have the time to handle the engineering or obtain the permit, which they said would take at least two months. They only offered assistance with demolition.After this disappointment, I decided to reach out to JRD Construction and had a much better experience. Dave promptly responded and sent Voss to assess the situation. Voss thoroughly inspected the area and effectively communicated with me, putting my mind at ease. JRD Construction provided an extremely reasonable estimate of $5,470 for the whole project, which included re-wiring since I had two outlets and one set of switches plus clean-up and painting. Surprisingly, they were able to obtain the permit within two weeks.During the demolition process, an issue with the wiring was discovered, requiring an additional cost of $530. Despite this, I remained happy and content with my decision to hire JRD Construction. While they don't handle structural engineering themselves, they collaborated seamlessly with Mehdi from Keystone Structural Engineering, whom I can also highly recommend. Overall, I strongly advise reaching out to JRD Construction for your construction needs. I couldn't be more thrilled about having the wall demolished without breaking the bank and creating more space! It has made such a difference in my living area, which was a win-win situation!
