Hidden gem! Was in town for pie during the beginning of COVID closure when I drove by this unassuming place with the "weaving" signage. Intrigued, I called later and found that in addition to the shop, Beryl also offers lessons in her academy. She accommodated a few schedule changes so that my friend and I could drive down from LA and do a half-day class with her and it was one of the most fun memories I have from quarantine. It was a joyful day and while I haven't had a chance to return I really hope I will one day. It is amazing that someone who has been at it for so long still is able to share the craft and continue to create beautiful pieces. A must visit for any fiber arts enthusiast! Go visit in person if you're missing craft shows. She also ships pieces if you're interested and has recently started an Instagram where you can see more stuff.

I am from Maine, and while visiting the Borrego Springs Art Center, I learned about The Julian Weaving Studio. I arranged a visit there, and Beryl was so gracious and willing to share her time and amazing knowledge of weaving. She is an enthusiastic teacher with boundless energy and talent. Highly recommended!
