Was happy for years until Dr Schten missed Melanoma on my leg for close to 1.5 years on my quarterly skin checks despite me pointing it out every time. I was very lucky it was slow growing. Also the office staff twice announced private medical information in the waiting room for all to hear.
Sometimes an apology goes a long way when you make a mistake and your staff mistreats a patient.
(TO BE CLEAR, I ACTUALLY QUITE LIKED DR. SCHTEN) .. this review is for Dr. Tanenbaum who was filling in for him today. Dr. Tanenbaum should never be allowed to see patients EVER again. (I can only imagine the harm he has caused people during his career). Today after meeting me for the first time Dr. Tanenbaum did NOT listen to me when I explained my decades long struggles, asked me inane questions, and clearly demonstrated that his ego was much more valuable than a patient's knowledge of THEIR OWN BODY. He was SO horrible I was in tears. The appointment was a complete waste of time and money, and he should be ABSOLUTELY ashamed of himself. The appointment was actually HARMFUL. The nurse was the only saving grace of the experience, and I commend her deeply for her diplomacy in such a position where she had to silently witness the doctor's ineptitude. DR. TANENBAUM, GO SIT DOWN SOMEWHERE, your brand of care is not just demeaning it is appalling. In short, DO NOT TAKE AN APPOINTMENT when Dr. Schten is out of town. Enjoy your vacation Dr. Schten and DO BETTER WITH YOUR SUBS!
Great doctor, great staff. I've been seeing Dr. Schten for a couple of years now. It is obvious to me that Dr. Schten and his office really care about what they are doing and, most importantly, care about me as a patient. Dr. Schten listens, knows what he's doing, and is very personable. I can also say the same for his staff. They are responsive, answer the phone and return calls and go out of their way to help. Very rare in today's medical landscape, at least, in my experience.
