As someone who has gone through this program twice in one year I can say many good things and many things that truly need to be fixed. Starting off with the negative, This place deserves not help treat anger issues or help with anger management. They claim that every emotion is valid but when it comes to anger you receive a response of shame and are treated as if your are a violent criminal, even if you do not threaten violence and have never been physical. No residential treatment program is going to be perfect, but after looking into multiple options I chose this program for my child. Ultimately, when they came home they had mainly positive things to say about the program and most of the staff members. They have a number of organized outings and there was a good balance of therapy and social activities. The one thing I think could be improved on are the food options as my child is very restrictive with dietary needs. However, they did offer me to send a care package to accommodate these special needs. Mission Prep was there for us at a time when we didn’t know how to help our child. They gave our kiddo the tools he needed to begin healing from the inside out. We’ll be forever grateful for the role they played in helping us get out kiddo back!
