About Orion Dog Training

Orion Dog Training offers a range of programs for dogs of all ages and experience levels. They provide puppy training classes, including socialization for puppies as young as 8 weeks old. Orion also offers classes for adult dogs in obedience, agility, and trick training. They have specialized programs for puppies under 10 pounds and for reactive dogs. Clients praise the knowledgeable instructors and welcoming community at Orion Dog Training. Dieuwke is wonderful and answered all questions and concerns. The trainer gave tips for positive reinforcement. They are also reasonably priced. The improvement in a dog’s behavior has been night and day. Clients had a great experience and plan to sign up for more classes in the future.

I adopted a 4 month old Pyrenees who was unsocialized and very shy. Initially I signed up for obedience class as a big box store, but we didn’t make much progress. The class was in a small room with a lot of dogs so it was chaotic. Someone recommended Orion to me and boy, what a difference. My dog has made so much progress. We have take 4 classes (2 obedience, 2 nose work+ puppy socials) and she’s thriving. Doing so well. I highly recommend Orion.

I unexpectedly took in a puppy and although I have dogs and have been active as a foster/rescue/rehabilitation, I've never raised and trained a puppy. I had tried a dog trainer in the past but he used techniques I didn't feel comfortable with so I was a bit hesitant trying another trainer. I am so glad I did- I've had a great experience at Orion and highly recommend it. My dog Hattie has been attending puppy socials for the last month and its her favorite thing. It brings her so much joy and also gives us a safe place for her to socialize and learn cues from other dogs. We've also been taking the puppy 1 course. Between these two classes and reinforcing the lessons at home, I've seen tremendous progress in Hattie. The best part is that Dieuwke has showed me how to train Hattie without punishment or fear. Dieuwke is teaching us how to communicate with one another and to build/reinforce our bond. Dieuwke seems to genuinely love dogs and enjoy her classes. It comes through with how she interacts with the dogs in class. She's also been incredibly helpful in answering all of my (probably too many) questions and has made a huge impact for Hattie's integration with the other pets. I've signed up to continue to puppy course 2 and puppy agility. If your looking for a trainer who genuinely adores dogs, is highly knowledge and uses only positive reinforcement- this is the place to go.

My labrador puppy has been attending puppy socials at Orion since she was 3 months old. I appreciate Dieuwke's calm, positive attitude with the pups and owners. This has been a safe place for Sammie to develop confidence with other puppies, with an experienced dog trainer closely observing the interactions between pups. I enthusiastically recommend Orion Dog Training for socialization and training!
