Going to the dentist is not something that anyone looks forward to ever. That can't be said about One Dental. If my dentists were like One Dental's 30, 20, 10, or 5 years ago, I would have gone to the dentist as an adult much, much sooner. I am haunted by my childhood dentist memories and “Little Shop of Horrors” personified it. Even my girlfriend and her father, who has serious fears of going to the dentist, have been pleasantly surprised by One Dental’s quality of service, non-judgmental attitude, and pleasant office. My girlfriend and I commented recently about how luxurious One Dental’s office is when I asked her when her next appointment was. Yes, I wrote luxurious for a dentist’s office it is out of the norm – from my past experiences. There’s upbeat department store-type music playing in the background and there are TVs with Netflix to watch while getting your teeth worked on. The décor in the waiting room is minimalist and modern and the framed photographs are San Francisco Bay Area-centric (except for the one photo of Greece). The equipment is clean and well maintained. Even the bathroom is well decorated down to the nice smelling hand soap. The flow of the entire office is very feng shui. The customer service is excellent. For example, when I asked my girlfriend when her next dental appointment was, she happily gave me the date and time without her usual grunts, quips, or resistance. It wasn’t because we both made a nonverbal resolution to ourselves to get our dental health up to par this year (we discovered after New Year’s Eve that we both made the resolution without telling each other). It is all because of how the dentist and the staff treated my girlfriend’s elderly father who has dementia and the constant visual reminder on our way home passing Foxworthy on The Almaden Expressway, that brought us into One Dental. They’ve treated us as VIP from day one. It’s white glove all the way. We get email and text reminders, follow ups, and instructions. I assume that is pretty standard in the modern dental office, but does your dentist give you a welcome goodie bag? Even our niece said, “I want to go to your dentist. I didn’t get a goodie bag from my new dentist.” Everyone is welcoming, warm, and friendly at the office. During a typical cleaning visit, they give you the remote control for the TV, glasses so you don’t get splashed while they work, the chair is comfortable, and they consistently check up on you to make sure you are comfortable. The dentist and his team calmed our nerves about being judged for not going to the dentist regularly. They explained everything and answer all of our questions about our teeth and dental care. Overall, I feel well cared for whenever I’m in their care and I’m comfortable. This is why my girlfriend and I now look forward to going to the dentist and getting our oral health in good health. No wonder it’s hard to get an appointment at One Dental. I feel fortunate we are patients. Thank you, One Dental team!
